Spring Decor Ideas Beyond Flowers
Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.
Look. Bask and Gather will never disparage flowers! Flowers are part of life for us—planting them, tending to them, arranging them. But while florals for spring is a given, we wanted to share some ideas that go beyond the usual offerings of tulips and daffodils.
Greek
Not full-on My Big Fat Greek Wedding (unless a big Greek flag on your garage door is your jam), but a few touches here and there. To us, a Greek-inspired spring looks like clean white marble busts, pillars for candles or succulents, laurel wreaths and gold leaf garlands. Fresh. Green. Classic.
Countryside
Think Victorian. A country manor, an escape from the city. Watch The Secret Garden for further inspiration, if you’d like. This look is all about ornamentation—little details on the furniture, patterned curtains, bronzed character pieces, and art framed in anything but a standard rectangle. Or include little specimens of things in jars, under cloches, on display.
Do flowers, but monochrome
Yes, flowers, but what if you pick a single color and stick to it? We love the way a monochromatic floral motif makes a home feel modern while still including a natural element. (Tip: you can use wallpaper even if you don’t want to cover an entire wall! Frame a section, use it as a backdrop against a corresponding vase with flowers, or add it to the back of a cabinet for a little pop whenever you open the door.)
We hope wherever you are, your spring is bringing you blue skies, fresh, clean air, and a feeling that anything is possible!
